DEATH NOTICE: Tuesday, April, 6, 1915, The Daily Interlake. "Respected Citizen Suddenly Called To Reward: Edwin (sic) Meuli Is Victim Of Heart Disease - Employed As Deputy Assessor".
      Word has been received that Edwin (sic) Meuli died suddenly at his home near Demersville, at about 1:15 this afternoon. Heart disease is said to have been the cause of death.
      Mr. Meuli has been employed in the county assessor's office as a field deputy. He worked up to Saturday night, at which time he complained of not feeling well and asking for a few days' furlough so that he might recuperate. It seems that he continued to grow worse, but at no tie was he considered in danger. It was considerable of a shock to his fellow workers at the court house when the news of his death was telephoned to them shortly after the end came. During tax collecting time last fall Mr. Meuli was a deputy in the county treasurer's office. He was of a quiet disposition and was heartily admired by all who knew him, and his sudden death will be generally deplored. He is survived by a wife and several children.
      The particulars regarding the funeral will be announced later.

OBITUARY: Thursday, April 8, 1915, The Daily Interlake. "Funeral Of Edwin (sic) Meuli Held Today".
      The funeral of Edward (sic) Meuli occurred this forenoon at 11 o'clock, from Waggener Undertaking parlors. Rev. G.M. Fisher delivered the funeral address, and the body was buried in the Conrad Cemetery. The pallbearers were David Greig, S. J. Purnell, J.R. Thompson, Bert Eaton, Ed Sanford and J.R. Wotring, all deputies at the county court house.
      The deceased was 36 years of age, and is survived by a wife and five small children. He also has a father, five brothers and two sisters residing at Dayton (Lake Co., Montana) and a sister living in Alma, Wisconsin.

OBITUARY: Monday, November 22, 1971, The Daily Interlake (Kalispell, Montana). "Mrs. Loey Hazen Dies Sunday, Rites Wednesday".
      Mrs. Loey Hazen, 90, died at her home at Rt. 2, Kalispell, Sunday. She was born August 17, 1881, in Wisconsin. She came to the Flathead Valley in 1900 and has resided here since. She has made her home with her granddaughter, Beaneita Brussel, for the past several years. She is survived by two sons, Selmer and Emmett Meuli, Seattle; 20 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
      Funeral services for Mrs. Hazen will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Johnson Chapel with interment in Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

6. Frank James Johnson was born on 12 Jun 1868 in Baraboo, Sauk Co., Wisconsin. He died on 26 Oct 1925 in Watertown, Codington Co., South Dakota. He was buried on 29 Oct 1925 in Marshall, Lyon Co., Minnesota. He married Mariah Sherrill on 12 Sep 1892 in Ida Grove, Ida Co., Iowa.

NOTE: Great-Grandma Imogene Tucker told me in a phone conversation around February 1, 1990 that her parents and some of her brothers are buried in a cemetery in Tracy or Marshall, Minnesota.

OBITUARY: Obtained from the Minnesota Regional Research Centers, Southwest Minnesota Historical Center, Minnesota Historical Society and Southwest State University, Marshall, MN 56258. The clipping was taken from the November 6, 1925, Marshall, Minnesota, THE NEWS MESSENGER. It reads:
      FRANK J. JOHNSON
      Frank James Johnson was born at Baraboo, Wisconsin, on June 12, 1868.
      Eight years later he moved with his parents to Luverne, Minnesota, where he spent his childhood days. From there he moved to Battle Creek, Iowa, where he lived until united in marriage to Maria Sherrill, of Ida Grove, Iowa, September 23, 1892. To this union nine children were born, all of whom are living. He lived at Bloomfield, Nebraska, for a number of years and then with his wife and family moved to South Dakota, where he resided for eight years.
      At the time of his sickness, his family had just moved to Marshall, while he was at the hospital in Watertown, South Dakota, where he died on October 26. He was fifty-five years old.
      The funeral services were held here a week ago yesterday, with interment in the Marshall Cemetery.
      Mr. Johnson, a kind and loving husband and father, is greatly missed by the ones who are left to mourn him.
      The nine children are Floyd, Glen, Walter, Imogene and Lee (sic), all of Marshall; Ray Johnson and Mrs. Henry Vanderlinden of Clear Lake; Mrs. Harry Blankenfield of Burke, South Dakota; and Mrs. Milton Mitchell of Marshall.
      The deceased also leaves two sisters and one brother, Mrs. E.J. Alexander of Wessington Springs, South Dakota; Mrs. G.E. West of Mannings, Iowa, and Mr. Bud Johnson of Harrison, Nebraska. His father and mother were called some years before.
      The pall bearers were Walter Johnson, Floyd Johnson, Harry Blankenfield, Henry Vanderlinden, Wesley Cattermole and Milton Mitchell.

7. Mariah Sherrill was born in Sep 1877 in Illinois. She died on 17 Jan 1953 in Walnut Grove, Redword Co., Minnesota. She was buried on 20 Jan 1953 in Marshall, Lyon Co., Minnesota. [Parents]
